How did everyone’s Mother’s Day go? I hope all the moms out there had a fantastic day with their loved ones!

I had an amazing weekend with my family! We all met up at my mom’s house to spend time together for Mother’s Day. Food would be ready around 12:30, so I arrived with Joseph around noon. My sister and Tony had arrived from San Jose about a half hour before us. My grandparents and great grandmother Nanay were coming from two hours away to see my moms house and stay the night, and I was surprised they weren’t there yet (I’m normally the last one to show up, eek)! My aunt showed up a few minutes after us as well.

For my outfit I wore a classy high neck lace blouse, black capri leggings, and my Guess Bree Lace Up Flats in the Nude color I was telling you guys about in my Sandal Season blog post! These ones are especially cute because the heel has gold tone hardware which adds a special touch, and the black pair I have don’t! I decided this was a cute and comfortable outfit to spend time with family in and also be formal enough for photos. Nanay and I were also being twinsies and matching with our blush pink shirts! <3 (So not planned!)

After my mom and Db were finishing up the final touches on the food, my grandparents and Nanay finally arrived. It was so nice to see them, as it had been awhile! Afterwards we ate the most amazing lunch ever! My mom and Db had a variety of delicious foods, one of my favorites being a pasta salad with cucumbers and tomatoes! We also pigged out on ribs, potatoes, garlic bread, shrimp, mushrooms, and some tiramisu for dessert (thanks for that tiramisu sees)!

After lunch, it was time for our scavenger hunt. Yes, a scavenger hunt. My mom and DB thought it would be so hilarious to hide almost a whole box of World’s Finest chocolate bars everywhere around their house (which is huge btw). So yeah, they had almost 40 chocolate bars for us to find. My sister scoped around downstairs and couldn’t find anything, so we headed upstairs and searched for literally 10 minutes to no avail! We opened drawers, closets, underneath pillows, chairs, couches and couldn’t find one bar!!  We were already beginning to complain when my sister finally found a chocolate bar inside an ottoman and I found one shortly after behind a picture frame. “Oh, those are the easy ones,” Db had announced. My sister and I looked at each other like… “WTF? We were searching for the ones we found for like 15 minutes already!” Soon DB gave us some hints on the type of hiding spots were to come….one was found TAPED, yes, taped, underneath a cupboard in the kitchen. Our boyfriends began helping us find the bars because of how difficult the hiding spots were, and Joseph was very clever in finding most of them! Some chocolate bars we found even had notes with clues on them. My favorite clue was “THE QUEEN’S THRONE.” I immediately raced to my moms chair at the dining room table. “This is the Queen’s Throne! This is the Queen’s Throne!” I shouted. I looked all over her chair but no chocolate bar was visible. Not even ‘taped’ underneath. Db gave me a look and said, “Well, that is the Queen’s Throne.” So I looked even more closely and saw a zipper located at the bottom of the cushion, unzipped it, and voila! The chocolate bar emerged (and a milk chocolate one at that)! Other clever hiding spots included the inside of the paper tray in the printer, inside the cat food dispenser, inside the water of the espresso machine, on top of a window sill, inside the towels in the bathroom, inside a Star Wars DVD case, and inside the tubing of a garment rack..(I know right!) Of course they had to give us major clues for us to even be able to look in those spots! In the end my sister and I both found 17 chocolate bars each (thanks to our lovely boyfriends)! What a coincidence! Props to my mom and DB for taking the time to hide these little suckers! We had a lot of fun and it was a great bonding experience. They are so creative and I appreciate them doing that for us!

Once we were all tired after an hour or two scavenger hunt we ate some dessert and had all the mother’s begin opening gifts (what I had been waiting for)! I got my grandma a classy watch, and Nanay a jewelry trinket and music note cards. For my mom I got her a Tarte makeup kit that included bronzer, lip stick, mascara, and eyeliner. I also got her a cute wine bag that said “Mombie: noun. An exhausted mother that feeds on coffee and survives on wine.” Which is totally her! haha! I also got her a nice coconut candle and some coasters that said “What happens tonight goes on Facebook tomorrow.” With is also totally her, because she puts everything on FB lol! It was very heartwarming to see everyone so happy and thankful for their gifts. It’s always nice making my family feel special and happy!

Once gift giving was over, we all talked and caught up on everything. I was also excited to finally see my moms new black cat, Lyndi, who they rescued from Pet Smart. Nobody would ever rescue Lyndi because she was a black cat, and apparently there are still a lot of superstitious people out there! Poor Lyndi, because she’s such a great cat! She’s currently still warming up to her environment and my mom’s other cat, Bugsy, but she’s slowly getting there!

Joseph and I left around 8:30 and had a satisfying day. It was great seeing everyone and even spending time with my seester who I adore and wish I could see everyday!!!!

I hope everyone also had a great weekend! Let me know what you ended up doing! Now back to reality and another long week….ehhhhh!!!!
